Weekly events in the summer
There's always something going on... Every Tuesday, market life in Lofer (a small weekly beer garden), every Friday, concert by the village band in Lofer and every Sunday in St. Martin, every Thursday, village evening in St. Martin, every Wednesday, village evening in Unken, every Wednesday, open-air cinema in Waidring. Weekly guided hikes organized by the tourism association (e.g., every Tuesday, a sunrise hike to the Grubhörndl – the highest point of the Loferer Alm).
Some of the weekly activities:
- Sunrise hike to the Loferer Alm every Tuesday with breakfast in the mountain hut
- E-bike tour Mayrberg every Monday, Hundfußalm every Tuesday
- Eagle watching tour at the Litzlalm every Tuesday
- SUP course for beginners every Wednesday
- Nature knows no boundaries. Hike every Tuesday.
- Lantern walk in the Lamprechtshöhle cave every Tuesday
- Garden meditation every Monday
- Water and sound lantern hike through the Seisenberg Gorge every Wednesday
- Evening meditation in Maria Kirchental every Wednesday
- Cave adventures every Thursday
- Alpine life and dairy farming on the Kallbrunnalm every Thursday
- Climbing and via ferrata every Thursday
- “Flowers and herbs in our garden” in St. Martin
- Herb walk in Unken every Friday

Weekly activities for children
The tourist office organizes numerous weekly activities for children, such as "How the Indians lived", torchlight hikes through the Seisenberg Gorge or the Lamprechtshöhle cave, games and fun at the village evening, guided biking for children in the pump track, climbing courses, canyoning, mountain carting, forest detective and water researcher hikes for children every Thursday, etc.
Special events in summer
Austrians love to celebrate! Special days include the alpine cattle drive, the summer solstice, and the cattle drive down from the alpine pastures, among others! Remember a few dates:
- Stoabergmarsch: 24-hour hike across the mountain, Saturday around June 21st
- Musical Alpine Pasture: Live music in all restaurants of the Lofer Alm, end of June, end of July, end of August
- Healing Days with TEH: Herbal Healing Workshop, last week of June
- Family festival: the greatest fun for children, first Saturday in August
- Whitewater and SUP events (in May, June, September)
- Market festival: traditional costume parade and beer garden festival, second weekend in August
- Summer solstice on Saturday around June 21st: Live music in several restaurants while fires light up the mountaintops.
Special events in autumn
- Farmers' Harvest Festival and Farmers' Festival in Unken, last weekend in August
- Farmers' Autumn Festival in Weißbach, first Saturday in September
- Farmers' Autumn Festival in Scheffsnoth Lofer on the first Sunday in September
- Cattle drive:
- Lofer: first weekend in September, morning from the Loferer Alm, music and festivities at the middle station
- St. Martin's Day, first Sunday in September, from 12 noon onwards: music and festivities, games, food and traditions
- Unken: second weekend in September
- Musical Alpine Pasture: Live music in all restaurants of the Lofer Alm, mid-September
- Bladlfest: traditional culinary festival in St. Martin, last weekend in September
- “Music and Games” on the high alpine pasture: first weekend in October
Weekly activities in winter
- Ski show every Wednesday evening
- Organized family evening walk with lanterns
- Weekly organized snowshoeing, easy hikes, caving adventures, rock/ice climbing, curling

Even in winter, snow and cold won't stop us from holding events!
- The sweetest Christmas market ever (third weekend in December) in Maria Kirchental,
- The Lenten market (on Lenten Tuesday),
- Musical ski event “Carving, Accordion & Zither” (mid-March).
